Inside ThymoCore: Black Seed Oil and the Science of Thymoquinone

Black seed oil is the heart of ThymoCore, and it is the ingredient that gave the formula its name. The "Thymo" in ThymoCore comes from thymoquinone, the key active compound in black seed. It has a substantial body of published human research, so it deserves a careful look at what we use, how it is made, and what surrounds it in the formula.*

What black seed oil is

Black seed oil comes from Nigella sativa. In ThymoCore we use 1,000 mg per serving of cold-pressed, solvent-free, non-deodorized black seed oil, standardized to 2 to 3 percent thymoquinone. Each of those words is a choice, so here is what they mean.

  • Cold-pressed. The oil is pressed cold, which is a different thing from solvent extraction.
  • Solvent-free. There is no hexane and no solvent in the process or the formula.
  • Non-deodorized. We do not strip the oil of its natural character.
  • Standardized to thymoquinone. Because thymoquinone is the key active, we specify it, so each serving is built around a defined amount and not left to chance.

Our brand philosophy rests on a simple idea: sourcing is part of the formula. Cold-pressed black seed oil is not the same as solvent-extracted oil, and we choose the former.

What thymoquinone is there for

Black seed oil is celebrated for supporting balanced immune and inflammatory responses and overall respiratory comfort.* A 1,000 mg serving puts it at the front of the formula, and the thymoquinone standardization gives that serving a clear anchor. We want readers to understand the role: black seed oil is the lead ingredient, and the rest of the formula is built to work alongside it.*

It also helps to know what the oil is not. It is not a flavoring or a filler. At 1,000 mg it is the largest ingredient by far in a serving of ThymoCore, and the other five ingredients are chosen to complement it. When you read the label, you should be able to see that logic.

The supporting cast, ingredient by ingredient

CoQ10 as ubiquinone, 50 mg

We use CoQ10 as ubiquinone. CoQ10 is a spark plug of cellular energy, and it supports the high-demand tissues of the lungs and heart and provides antioxidant protection, which helps your respiratory system perform with stamina.*

Quercetin, 150 mg

A plant flavonoid from Sophora japonica that provides antioxidant support and helps support a healthy inflammatory response.* Quercetin also appears in PulmoMoss, which makes it a thread connecting the two formulas.

Curcumin C3 Complex, 100 mg

This is a branded, clinically studied turmeric extract (Curcuma longa) standardized to 95 percent curcuminoids. It helps maintain a healthy inflammatory balance throughout the body, including the respiratory tract, and adds a layer of antioxidant defense.*

Vitamin D3, 1,000 IU

Vitamin D3 supports the lungs' innate defenses and the steady immune balance that helps keep breathing easy year-round.*

Vitamin K2 as menaquinone (MK-7), 90 mcg

K2 is the natural partner to vitamin D. As the long-acting MK-7 form, it supports calcium going to the bones and away from soft tissue, which in turn supports the cardiovascular system that works hand in hand with your lungs.*

Why these ingredients sit together

We designed ThymoCore to work at the cellular level. Black seed oil, CoQ10 and curcumin bring antioxidant and balanced-response support, quercetin adds antioxidant support, and the D3 and K2 pairing supports immune balance and healthy calcium use.* Because these ingredients all work in complementary ways, we think of ThymoCore as the formula that builds resilience from within, and PulmoMoss as the formula that works at the surface of the airways.*

How to take it

Take 2 softgels daily with food. Each bottle contains 30 servings. The formula is cold-pressed and solvent-free, with no hexane, no solvents, no fillers and no artificial preservatives, and every ingredient and amount is printed plainly on the label. The softgel capsule is made of gelatin, glycerin and purified water.

Before you start

ThymoCore is for adults 18 and older and is not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please check with your healthcare provider first if you take blood thinners, antiplatelet drugs, blood pressure or blood sugar medications, or statins, if you have a bleeding disorder, an autoimmune, cardiovascular or other medical condition, or if you are scheduled for surgery. Stop use 1 to 2 weeks before surgery. Vitamin D3 adds up when you also take PulmoMoss: together the two formulas provide 2,000 IU a day, and the daily total should not exceed 4,000 IU.
